Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) -- Song Enlei, head of a friendship delegation of the China Association for International Friendly Contact, who visited the DPRK, said that they would contribute to significantly adorning the "year of China-DPRK friendship."
He noted that the friendly relations between the two countries were provided by President Kim Il Sung together with Chairman Mao Zedong, Premier Zhou Enlai and other revolutionaries of the elder generation of China.
The traditional China-DPRK friendship, which has steadily developed, standing all trials of history, is being further strengthened under the deep care of President Hu Jintao and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, he said.
Colorful functions being staged in the two countries in the "year of China-DPRK friendship" marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations will be conducive to boosting the China-DPRK friendly relations, a common precious wealth, he said, expressing belief that the Korean people would certainly open the gate to a great prosperous and powerful nation in the near future under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
