Kim Jong Il Provides Field Guidance to Work in Revolutionary Battle Sites in Yonsa Area
Pyongyang, May 23 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to the work in the revolutionary battle sites in the Yonsa area.

Kim Jong Il went round the Revolutionary Battle Site on Saji Peak and the Angup Revolutionary Battle Site to which President Kim Il Sung and anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk proceeded twice and conducted political activities, the Temporary Secret Base on Mt. Sangdan where the President convened a historic meeting of the chiefs of the organizations of the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland from across the country and a meeting of commanding members of the paramilitary organizations from across the country in July 1944 and June 1945 respectively and other anti-Japanese battle zones and the Yonsa Revolutionary Museum to learn in detail about the management and operation of the revolutionary battle sites and education of people.

He highly appreciated the feats performed by officials, party members and other working people in Yonsa County, expressing great satisfaction over the fact that they have thoroughly established a system whereby they can permanently preserve the precious historic relics and conducted the effective education of people and servicepersons in the revolutionary traditions after sprucing up the battle sites.

He highly praised the lecturers and management workers in the revolutionary battle sites and other workers in the field of the preservation of revolutionary relics for having sincerely performed their duties and showed great loving care and benevolence for them.

After looking round the precious historic relics in the battle sites with deep emotion, he said that the President and Kim Jong Suk are legendary heroes and peerlessly great persons who made endless journeys of bloody battles for the liberation of the country and the people's freedom and happiness. The immortal revolutionary exploits performed by the President will shine forever in the history of the country, he added.

Saying that the glorious revolutionary traditions established by the President in the protracted anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle serve as strong roots of the WPK and the revolution, he stressed that the Korean revolution is wining one victory after another as these traditions of Juche are being steadfastly carried forward and developed generation after generation.

The army and people of the DPRK have dynamically advanced along the road of the revolution, weathering the manifold trials unprecedented in history as the WPK has steadily conducted the education in the revolutionary traditions in the past, he said, adding that it is a sure guarantee for accomplishing the revolutionary cause started by the leader to intensify the education in the revolutionary traditions.

He set forth the important tasks which would serve as guidelines for managing and operating the revolutionary battle sites and further intensifying the education through those battle sites.

Noting that there are in Yonsa County many precious revolutionary battle sites, eternal treasures of the WPK and the people, he underscored the need to pay particular attention to the preservation and management and operation of those sites.

As the revolutionary battle sites in the Yonsa area are the places of great significance where the President's great original operational policy for the liberation of the country was successfully implemented, he said, adding that it is, therefore, necessary to let all people visit the sites. To this end it is necessary to provide the visitors with ample conditions for their tour including transport facilities, he emphasized.

He was accompanied by Hong Sok Hyong, chief secretary of the North Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the WPK, Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the C.C., the WPK, Jang Song Thaek and Pak Nam Gi, department directors of the C.C., the WPK, and Ri Je Gang and Ri Jae Il, first vice department directors of the C.C., the WPK.
