Lee Myung Bak Group's Crimes against People Blasted
Pyongyang, May 23 (KCNA) -- Some days ago, the Lee Myung Bak group of south Korea brutally suppressed with a huge police force a peaceful demonstration staged by workers to cherish the memory of Pak Jong Thae, chairman of the trade union branch of the Freight Workers' Solidarity, branding it as an "illegal and violent demonstration" and a "blatant challenge to legal order." Not content with this, the group kicked up a whirlwind of wholesale arrest of members of the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions.

A spokesman for the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) issued a statement on Friday vehemently denouncing this crackdown as crimes against people, democracy and human rights.

It went on:

Traitor Lee Myung Bak is now running the whole gamut of shameful and reckless remarks that workers' actions seriously injured the image of south Korea in the international area and they were an expression of backwardness and it is necessary to turn the south Korean society into the one where ethics is preserved in a bid to prevent the movement of support and solidarity of people of different circles of south Korea for workers' actions from mounting at any cost.

What the Lee group has done is nothing but reviving the pro-U.S. fascist dictatorship, driving economy to bankruptcy and causing massive unemployment and bringing the inter-Korean relations back to those in the era of confrontation. In consequence, as long as this group is allowed to stay in power south Korea cannot but have a gloomier future and people are destined to suffer more unbearable misfortune and pain.

It is the only way out for the south Korean people to decisively and mercilessly eliminate the group, the most wicked stranglers of democracy and human rights abusers, fascist dictators and sycophants and traitors.

The GFTUK will as always extend full support to the south Korean workers in their just struggle, the statement stressed.
