Anniversary of S. Korean Youth and Students' Occupation of "American Cultural Service" Observed
Pyongyang, May 23 (KCNA) -- South Korean youth and students' occupation of the "American Cultural Service" in Seoul on May 23, 1985 was an eruption of the south Koreans' pent-up grudge and resentment against the U.S. imperialist aggressors who imposed unspeakable misfortune and pain upon the Korean nation and a courageous action which powerfully demonstrated the strong desire and indomitable will of the south Korean youth and students to put an end to the foreign forces' military occupation of south Korea and win back the dignity and sovereignty of the nation.

Rodong Sinmun Saturday says this in a commentary.

The commentary cites facts to prove that the U.S. has kept south Korea under its military occupation and domination despite the south Koreans' struggle for national dignity and sovereignty and instigated the pro-U.S. forces to enforce a dictatorial rule and thus mercilessly quelled the people's desire and call for independence, democracy and reunification.

The south Korean people's desire for independence, democracy and reunification can never come true unless an end is put to the U.S. military occupation and domination over south Korea and the sycophants and traitors' acts of doing harm to the dignity and interests of the nation, subservient to it, the commentary noted, and goes on:

Having keenly realized this through their life experience, the south Korean people are carrying on their dynamic struggle for independence against the U.S., their hearts burning with the grudge and resentment against the aggressors.

Loud shouts of anti-U.S. slogans heard from different parts of south Korea are a manifestation of the firm will of the people from all walks of life to drive the U.S. imperialist aggression troops out of this land without fail and win back the dignity and sovereignty of the nation.
