Puppet Authorities' Human Rights Abuses Flayed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 23 (KCNA) -- The Joint Conference of Human Rights Organizations in south Korea issued a statement on May 18, denouncing the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors for their reckless violation of workers' rights.

The statement charged that the police committed such unprecedented repressive actions as walking away more than 450 persons and leaving dozens of people wounded in a day while violently cracking down on the struggle of the Freight Workers' Solidarity.

The police violated the rights of the arrested workers while making investigation into them and resorted to sinister deed of cooking up the written "procession of arrest" in a bid to justify their arrest, it pointed out.

Referring to the police's claim that the workers have been arrested because of their "illegal rally and violent demonstration", the statement said that this reveals the deception and brutality of the "law and principle" touted by the authorities.

It urged the authorities to release all the unreasonably arrested and detained workers and immediately lift the decision of disallowing any rally of the Confederation of Trade Unions.
