Japanese Reactionaries' Ambition for Overseas Expansion Flayed
Pyongyang, May 13 (KCNA) -- The Maritime "Self-Defence Force" (MSDF) and the National Safety Agency (NSA) of Japan were recently reported to have staged a combined drill in the waters off Haneda, Tokyo with huge armed forces involved. Prime Minister Aso, addressing a ceremony of reviewing the troops involved in the drill, urged the MSDF and the NSA to faithfully perform their duties in order to make the waters off Japan a "safe and peaceful sea."

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:

The combined drill is a product of the U.S. imperialists' Asian strategy for aggression and part of the moves to realize Japan's ambition for overseas expansion by invading Korea, pursuant to the U.S. war strategy, and paving the way for staging a comeback to Asia with its peninsula as a springboard.

The fact that a large portion of the period of the combined drill was devoted to the task force maneuvers of the MSDF goes to clearly prove its offensive nature and criminal purpose.

Japan stands isolated and rejected in the international arena and in the grip of political and economic crisis at present. It is an anachronistic daydream for Japan to dare threaten, blackmail and hurt someone.

It is an invariable stand of the DPRK to counter the theory of "a preemptive attack" touted by the Japanese reactionaries with a fiercer Korean-style preemptive attack as already clarified before the world.

Japan' s moves to ignite a reckless war against the DPRK while talking about "a preemptive attack" and the like will be as foolish an act as jumping into fire with fagot on its back.
