Kim Jong Il Provides Field Guidance to Industrial Establishments in Huichon City
Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il provided field guidance to industrial establishments in Huichon City.

The first leg of his guidance was the Huichon General Machine-Tool Plant.

After being briefed on the modernization of the plant, he acquainted himself in detail with various production processes and newly manufactured machine tools to get familiar with the progress made in the technical updating and modernization and production there.

After learning in detail about the capacity and mechanism and principles of operation of the newly-contrived and manufactured machine tools, he expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the workers of the plant have produced a lot of efficient machine tools as required by the new century by devoting all their wisdom and enthusiasm. He highly appreciated the feats performed by them.

Saying that the position and role of the plant in the nation's economic development are very important, he set forth important tasks to be fulfilled by the plant.

Noting that the material and technical foundation of the Juche-oriented industry of the country has grown stronger thanks to the positive activities of the reliable machine-tool plants in recent years, he underscored the need to equip the plant better to be a model plant in the IT age.

The next leg of his guidance was the Youth Electrical Complex.

He got familiar with the production there, examining various products turned out by the complex.

The complex has a very important duty to perform in putting the technical revolution on a higher level, he said, indicating tasks to be fulfilled by the complex to keep the production going at a high rate and ways to do so.

He also gave field guidance to the Huichon Precision Machine Plant.

He made the rounds of various production processes including the piston shop to learn in detail about technical equipment and production there.

He said that the reality in which the number of vehicles has rapidly increased requires greater quantities of accessories.

In order to satisfactorily meet the rapidly growing needs for accessories it is necessary to energetically push forward the technological updating of the plant to steadily boost the production capacity, he noted, indicating tasks and ways to do so.

Pointing out that the spirit of the workers in Huichon courageously dashing with the exceptional enthusiasm to open the gate to a thriving nation before any others is sky-high, he stressed that the DPRK is sure to win final victory as such loyal vanguard is dynamically running ahead of others and it has powerful independent national economy.

He was accompanied by Pak To Chun, chief secretary of the Jagang Provincial Committee of the WPK, Jon Pyong Ho, secretary of the C.C., the WPK, and Jang Song Thaek and Pak Nam Gi, department directors of the C.C., the WPK.
