Protests against Murder of Evacuees in Ryongsan Unabated in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- Civic and public organizations of all strata in south Korea staged protests in different parts of Seoul on April 30 against the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors' killing of evacuees in Ryongsan.

The All-People Committee for Measures against the Murder of Evacuees in Ryongsan held a press conference on the scene of tragedy in Ryongsan at which it deplored that though 100 days have passed since the tragedy, the Lee Myung Bak "government" has neither probed the truth behind the killing nor punished its chief culprits.

Meanwhile, members of the organization conducted information service around "Chongwadae" demanding the probe into truth behind the tragedy and the punishment of the prime movers of the murder.

They urged Lee Myung Bak to apologize to the bereaved families of the dead and people and probe the truth behind the killing without delay.

Students affiliated to the "Preparatory Committee for National Student Actions" marched as far as the scene of the Ryongsan tragedy, assailing the authorities for meanly trying to cover up the truth about the incident.

On the same day, the fascist police indiscriminately cracked down upon the participants in the protest and walked off at least ten evacuees and students to a police station.

In this regard, the above-said committee issued an urgent statement.

The statement declared it would bring the police's illegal and violent acts of violating human rights to the "human rights committee," etc. and stage a strong protest.
