Lee Group's Fascist Crackdown upon Pro-Reunification Organization Denounced
Pyongyang, May 5 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, the south Korean puppet court held a trial of members of the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration at which it sentenced its leading members to heavy penalties after labeling it an "enemy-benefiting one" on the charge of violation of the ill-famed "National Security Law (NSL)".

Minju Joson Tuesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard: This was an unpardonable fascist action of the Lee Myung Bak group to illegalize the activities in south Korea for implementing the north-south joint declarations and destroy the progressive organizations for the reunification movement one by one.

The righteous activities conducted by the solidarity, a legitimate organization for the reunification movement, since its formation deserve praises of all the countrymen, far from being a target of suppression.

What merits serious attention is that the above-said fascist action was taken against the organization at a time when the north-south relations were brought to total collapse and the suppression of the progressive organizations is getting intensified in south Korea as the days go by. This fully disclosed the Lee group's treacherous design to destroy all the organizations for the reunification movement in south Korea.

As the reality indicates, if the group of traitors is allowed to go scot-free while resorting to the fascist suppression of those organizations it is quite impossible to implement the north-south joint declarations nor is it possible to settle the deteriorated north-south relations.

The Lee Myung Bak group would be well advised to halt at once the fascist crackdown upon the above-said organizations and the patriotic personages, bearing in mind that its moves to strengthen the fascist rule under the signboard of "pragmatism," going against the trend of the times, are little short of adding to its crimes committed against the nation.
