Lee Myung Bak Group's Move for Inter-Korean Broadcasting Exchange Termed Hypocritical
Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) -- The "Broadcasting and Communication Committee" of south Korea at a recent plenary meeting decided to form a "committee for promoting south-north broadcasting exchange" allegedly for the purpose of "systematically promoting the exchange and cooperation in the field of broadcasting between the south and the north".

A spokesman for the Central Committee of the Journalists Union of Korea answered the question raised by KCNA in this regard on May 2.

This is a mockery and deception of the public opinion and the mind-set of the people at home and abroad desirous of national concord and reunification and true cooperation and exchange between media of the north and the south, the spokesman said, and continued:

The cooperation and exchange between the media that are keenly aware of the disgrace and sufferings resulting from the national split that has lasted for more than half a century should duly serve the purpose of national unity and reunification. But those progressive media that speak for justice and truth and call for reunification and patriotism have become the targets of merciless fascist suppression in south Korea today whereas the conservative media hell-bent on flunkeyism, treachery, fascist actions and anti- reunification acts are growing influential under the patronage of the authorities.

It is none other than the "Broadcasting and Communication Committee" that is spearheading the moves to embellish the group of traitors' confrontation with fellow countrymen and anti- reunification policy and the moves of the authorities to turn the media conservative and reptile.

The decision of the above-said committee was prompted by the sinister intention of the group to cover up its anti-reunification and confrontational true colors, calm down the people of all strata criticizing and condemning it and put under its full control the exchange and cooperation under way between progressive media institutions of south Korea and media organs in the north.

The committee which was formed by traitor Lee Myung Bak to control media in March should be disorganized without delay as demanded by the people of various strata as it is a government-controlled unpopular and reactionary mechanism taking the lead in enforcing the fascist rule of the group.
