Samilpho Special Products Factory
Pyongyang, April 30 (KCNA) -- The Samilpho Special Products Factory standing on the bank of the Taedong River in Pyongyang is a general foodstuff processing base.

The modernly equipped factory produces more than 350 kinds of food including noodles, rice-cakes, cooking oil, confectionery, teas, processed local farm products and processed fish.

The foodstuffs of the factory are peculiar ones which are made of locally available raw materials.

They include 10 odd kinds of staple food including arrowroot starch noodle, buckwheat noodle, potato paste cakes. Side dishes number more than 60 kinds, among them pickles of Aster scaber, aralia shoots and perilla leaves as well as anise kimchi rich in natural herb flavor.

The factory produces a wide variety of teas including persimmon leaf tea, ginkgo leaf tea, mushroom tea and barley tea and Koryo medicines, honeys, agricultural products and others which are good for the improvement of health.

It turns out more than 50 brands of liquors including Chilbosan agarics liquor, Koryo wild insam liquor, antler and wild insam liquor, kudzu root liquor and Kumgangsan bellflower liquor.

Very high in quality and packing standard, its products are popular at home and abroad.

Jong Yun Ho, director of the factory, told KCNA his factory would produce larger quantities of health foodstuffs and tonics made with natural specialties famous in Korea to help toward the improvement of the people's living.
