Actions for Repeal of Evil Law and for Reunification Called for in S. Korea
Pyongyang, April 30 (KCNA) -- The Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy in south Korea issued a resolution on April 25, declaring its will to wage a more dynamic struggle for the repeal of the "National Security Law" and for the independent reunification.

The resolution referred to the fact that many pro-reunification patriots are still behind bars for struggling national reunification and the democratization of the south Korean society.

Since the emergence of the Lee Myung Bak "government", in particular, an increasing number of people have been detained on charges of violating the NSL, the "law on assembly and demonstration" and other evil laws, it deplored.

It urged the present regime to immediately scrap the NSL, an evil law against reunification, and lift the label of "enemy-benefiting" organizations attached to pro-reunification patriotic organizations including the South Headquarters of the Pan-National Alliance for Korea's Reunification, the South Headquarters of the Pan-National Alliance of Youth and Students for Korea's Reunification, the Federation of University Student Councils and the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration.

The organization will stage positive actions against the security authorities' human rights abuses and moves to fake up cases and for the release of all the prisoners of conscience and lifting of search for those wanted for political offences, it noted.
