Floral baskets and bouquets were seen before the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il in the venues of the events.

On display in the venues of the functions were works of the peerlessly great men, photos showing their immortal Songun leadership exploits and books and photos introducing the struggle of the army and people of the DPRK.

Speeches were made at the functions.

A Vietnamese vice-minister of Foreign Affairs noted with high appreciation that Kim Il Sung had devoted all his life to the struggle for the liberation of the country and socialist construction.

The Mongolian defence minister said that Kim Il Sung is a person perfectly possessed of humility, kindness and all other personalities as a great man.

The general secretary of the Central Committee of the Unified Communist Party of Italy said that the Korean people are making signal successes in building a great prosperous and powerful nation while emerging victorious undeterred by any worldwide economic upheavals because Kim Il Sung built the most advantageous socialist state in Korea and laid a strong foundation for its strengthening and development.

The spokesman (leader) of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Communist Party of Britain (Marxist-Leninist) highly praised Kim Il Sung as the great revolutionary and distinguished leader who devoted all his life to the liberation and the independence of the Korean people, prosperity of the country and the popular masses' cause of independence.

The chairman of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru stressed that the DPRK's recent successful satellite launch demonstrated again the greatness of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

The chairman of the external relations committee of the Democrat Party and the secretary general of the National Leading Council of the Diversity Unity Party of Indonesia expressed the belief that the Korean people led by Kim Jong Il, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, would achieve greater successes in their efforts to build a thriving nation and realize national reunification.

"Faith of Korea", "The Arch of Triumph" and other Korean films were appreciated at the film shows.
