Information Services Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- Information services are presenting an animated scene in the DPRK.

The Grand People's Study House has arranged the server room, the catalog retrieving room, the e-reading room and the multimedia reading room to suit the demands of the new century while digitizing tens of millions of volumes of originals and catalogs. And it is energetically pushing ahead with the work for resolving scientific and technical problems arising in turning the libraries across the country into e-libraries.

Recently, the library managing method institute there wrote and disseminated a lot of books helpful to the management of libraries and organized technical short courses on the spot several times.

The libraries in the provinces, cities and counties (districts) are rendering effective information services to the readers by the Korean-style method of service operation and with modern information facilities.

In Jagang and South and North Hamgyong Provinces e-service began after the libraries had been face-lifted.

Work is on the way to modernize the libraries and render high-standard of information services in Hoeryong City, North Hamgyong Province, Mangyongdae District, Pyongyang, Manpho City, Jagang Province, Ongjin County, South Hwanghae Province, Phihyon County, North Phyongan Province, Samjiyon County, Ryanggang Province, Tanchon City, South Hamgyong Province and many other cities and counties (districts).

Working people of all strata and school youth and children find sufficient data available at the e-libraries.
