Education Ministry Spokesman Assails Japanese Reactionaries' Distortion of History
Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries are persisting in their moves to justify the aggression committed by Japan against Korea and its past colonial rule over it and tamper with the history of the Korean nation. This came under fire by a statement issued by a spokesman for the Ministry of Education of the DPRK Friday.

It bitterly denounced the remarks made by the Japanese reactionaries to justify Japan's colonial rule over Korea and their moves to tamper with history as an unpardonable criminal act to implant the departed soul of the militarists into the minds of the younger generation and realize their ambition to stage a comeback to Korea without fail.

The statement went on:

The Japanese reactionaries are leaving no means untried to justify the aggression perpetrated by Japan against Korea throughout its history and its colonial rule over it. These crimes are the height of cunning and shamelessness of samurais keen to cover up the crime-woven past at any cost and a revelation of the Japanese militarists' ambition for reinvasion.

The Japanese imperialists' aggression against Korea and their colonial rule over it were, indeed, the worst state-sponsored crimes in history.

Such criminals dared claim their aggression and colonial rule over Korea were "soft and fair ones" and they "contributed to the modernization" and the like. This is no more than imprudent and brigandish sophism which touches off towering resentment not only among the Koreans but of the international community.

The Korean nation will settle accounts with Japan for all its past crimes and its moves for confrontation with the DPRK and force it to pay for them a thousand times generation after generation.

It should never pardon the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors which has connived and defended the moves of the Japanese reactionaries, unhesitatingly letting loose nonsense that "south Korea-Japan relations should not be allowed to retreat due to the issue of understanding history" under the motto of "reconciliation" and "future-oriented attitude."
