Wreaths Laid before Statue and Grave of Kang Pan Sok
Pyongyang, April 21 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the statue of Kang Pan Sok, an indomitable revolutionary fighter and outstanding leader of the Korean women's movement, in the Chilgol Revolutionary Site and her grave in Mangyongdae on April 21 on the occasion of her 117th birth anniversary.

Seen standing before the statue and grave were wreaths sent by Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

The wreath-laying ceremonies were attended by Choe Thae Bok, Yang Hyong Sop, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Yong Rim and leading officials of organs of party, armed forces, power and working people's organizations, officials of ministries and national institutions, servicepersons of the Korean People's Army and working people in the city.

Wreaths in the name of the WPK Central Committee, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the DPRK Cabinet were placed there.

Placed there then were wreaths in the name of working people's organizations, ministries, educational and public health and press institutions and revolutionary schools and party and power organs and farms in Pyongyang.

The participants paid silent tribute to her, looking back on the brilliant life and exploits of the mother who gave birth to President Kim Il Sung as the sun of the nation, ushered in a new era of the women's movement in Korea and dedicated herself to the victory of the revolution.
