End of Dictatorial Regime Called for in S. Korea
Pyongyang, April 21 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification issued a statement on April 19 on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the April Popular Uprising.

The statement noted that it is 49 years since the April 19 Popular Uprising but there is still in south Korea the same deplorable reality as that in the past dictatorial regime.

The statement accused the Lee Myung Bak regime of pushing the living of the absolute majority of the people to the edge of precipice by enforcing a policy favorable for a tiny handful of money cliques and the rich only, adding that the grudge of the people against the brazen-faced authorities is mounting high.

It went on:

Lee Myung Bak is cracking down upon the people and perpetrating brutal murder of protesters by using all powers. He has gone the lengths of organizing such white terrorist group as the "Northwest Young People's Association" which earned an ill-fame as a group of political gangsters under the control of Syngman Rhee in the past.

The group of sycophants and traitors have brought the south-north relations to a stalemate and further increased the danger of war on the Korean Peninsula, backed by the U.S. and Japanese warmongers.

It is hard to expect social progress and the happiness of the people and it is much more difficult to achieve reunification as long as U.S. imperialists and the Lee group are allowed to stay in south Korea.

The statement called on all the progressive forces to closely rally under the banner of "By our nation itself" and bring down the dictatorial regime without fail.
