Japan Urged to Fulfill Its Obligation, to Begin with
Pyongyang, April 21 (KCNA) -- Recently Japan tabled a "resolution" critical of the DPRK over its "human rights issue" at the meeting of the UN Human Rights Council, linking the "abduction issue" with the human rights issue.

Rodong Sinmun today observes in a signed article in this regard:

The aim sought by Japan in the above-said action is not simply to settle the "human rights issue" but to produce "a resolution" on human rights, a document peppered with lies and fabrications, in a bid to brand the DPRK as an "abductor" and isolate it internationally and gloss over the settlement of past, and then use it as a lever for realizing the ambition to stage a comeback to Korea.

As far as the issue of abduction is concerned, Japan is the arch abductor, the article notes, citing facts to prove that the Japanese imperialists forcibly drafted and abducted a large number of Koreans and brutally killed many of them in the first half of the last century.

The departed souls of the great many Koreans who were forced to do slave labor in the hell on earth after being forcibly drafted, lured and abducted by the Japanese imperialists, those who were forced into sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army and hurled into battle fields as cannon fodder and other Koreans who lost their lives at their hands seem to bitterly condemn the above-said thrice-cursed atrocities.

The forcible drafting and abduction of Koreans committed by the Japanese imperialists can never be covered up nor can they be written off no matter how much water may flow under the bridge.

This notwithstanding, Japan is so brazen-faced that it has not yet admitted and apologized the above-said crimes against humanity. On the contrary it is running the whole gamut of sleight of hand to grossly distort them and keep them buried into oblivion.

Japan's much ado about someone's "abduction issue" and "human rights issue" only heightens the Korean people's hatred for Japan.

Japan would be well advised to properly understand the Korean people's bitterness toward Japan and fulfill its obligation as early as possible.
