Preparation for Registration of More Historical Relics as World's Cultural Heritages under Way
Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- The work for the registration of more historical remains as world's cultural heritages has been undertaken in the DPRK these years.

The Cultural Relics Conservation Guidance Bureau is now in close touch with the UNESCO to have famous historical relics in Kaesong, the capital of Koryo (918-1392), registered as world's cultural heritages through due formalities.

The Mausoleum of King Wang Kon, Mausoleum of King Kongmin, Nam Gate of Kaesong, Koryo Songgyungwan, Sungyang School, Sonjuk Bridge, Monument to Loyalty, Manwoltae, Kaesong Fort, Taehungsan Fort and Kwanum Temple have already been selected as objects to be registered.

Some time ago Minsok (folk) Street, the Chilrung Group of Tombs, the Myongrung Group of Tombs and the Kaesong Chomsongdae Observatory were newly added to the objects. The registration will give a perfect appearance to the old historical city in relation with diversified historical relics.

Along with the work of preserving and managing the objects well, efforts are being made to arrange a state legal guarantee for it.

The recommendation document for the registration of the objects as world's cultural heritages in accordance with the regulations and standard set by the UNESCO has already been made.

Sixty three Koguryo mural tombs including the Mausoleum of King Tongmyong, Yaksu-ri mural tomb, Tokhung-ri mural tomb, three tombs of Kangso and Anak Tomb No. 3 were put on the list of the world's cultural heritage at the 28th meeting of the World Heritage Committee of the UNESCO held in China in 2004.
