Foreign Diplomats Visit Minsok Street in Sariwon
Pyongyang, April 2 (KCNA) -- Officials in charge of cultural and friendly relations of embassies of different countries here visited Minsok (Folk) Street in Sariwon City, North Hwanghae Province, on April 2 on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission.

Being briefed on the fact that Minsok Street was built in a peculiar style thanks to the noble intention of Kim Jong Il to properly carry forward and develop the national cultural heritages, the guests looked round the exhibition of historical materials and the folklore amusement ground and other places vividly showing the excellent folk tradition of the resourceful and diligent Korean people.

A councilor of the Romanian embassy here said that Minsok Street was built in a peculiar and splendid style, adding that the visit to the street offered him an opportunity to know better about the history and folk tradition of Korea.

Riyad Shehadeh, councilor of the Palestinian embassy here noted that the Korean people are the great people with a long history and brilliant culture, adding that he was deeply moved by the Korean people's efforts to preserve the national character.
