S. Korean Authorities' Human Rights Abuses under Fire
Pyongyang, March 29 (KCNA) -- At least 200 human rights organizations in south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on March 25 denouncing the authorities' violation of human rights.

At the press conference speakers charged that on March 24 the police walked away two women human rights activists while getting hell-bent on suppression of the human rights organizations in a sit-in strike which was staged in protest against the unreasonable scheme of the Ministry of Administration and Security to weaken the function of the "Human Rights Committee".

They said that the ministry, far from renouncing such scheme to reduce the committee, set in motion the police to repress the sit-in strike of the human rights organizations and thus fully revealed once again its idol on human rights.

They declared that they would not pardon the authorities' suppression but fight it out to protect human rights.
