The Phibada Opera Troupe is re-creating the opera as required by the new century this year, the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the DPRK and China. This opera had been created and performed on the basis of the Chinese famous classic novel of the same title in the 1960s.

The costumes include those for the artistes playing leading roles, figurants and figurantes and dancers who are presenting dances such as lotus and butterfly dances in the opera.

The opera will colorfully adorn "the year of DPRK-China Friendship" and contribute to the development of the friendly relations between the two peoples.
