Lee Myung Bak's Accusation against DPRK's Projected Satellite Launch Dismissed
Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- The Lee Myung Bak group of south Korea has been busy with diplomacy, crying out for "stop to the missile launch" and "decisive countermeasure through international cooperation" since information about the DPRK's projected launch of experimental communications satellite was sent to the relevant international organizations. This is nothing but a groundless outcry of the political philistines ignorant of any legality of the study of space science for peaceful purposes.

Minju Joson Thursday says this in a signed commentary.

It continues:

Outer space is not a monopoly of a few specified powers but an asset common to mankind and the space development is promoted worldwide at present.

The DPRK made public a plan to launch an experimental communications satellite in February in accordance with the state long-term plan for space development. Of late it provided the International Civil Aviation Organization and the International Maritime Organization with information necessary for the safe navigation of airliners and ships. These facts go to prove that the DPRK's projected satellite launch poses no problem.

The Lee group is stirring up a hornet's nest over the above-mentioned satellite launch, displeased with it. This is prompted by the fear that the DPRK's successful satellite launch may give further momentum to augmenting its national power and cause south Koreans to turn their minds to the DPRK and then this may amount to a telling blow to the group keen to stifle fellow countrymen, backed by outsiders.

The group should have done something good for the sake of the nation. However, it has gone the lengths of frantically kicking up a confrontation racket against fellow countrymen, clinging to the coattails of outside forces, not content with the anti-DPRK smear campaign launched by it over the issue. It is a gang of wicked confrontational maniacs.

It is impossible to improve the inter-Korean relations nor is it possible to realize the desire of the nation for independent reunification, peace and prosperity as long as the group of traitors is allowed to stay in power in south Korea.

The Lee group had better behave itself, bearing in mind that its frantic moves to escalate the confrontation with fellow countrymen would only hasten its self-destruction, warns the commentary.
