Anniversary of DPRK-Russian Agreement Observed
Pyongyang, March 16 (KCNA) -- A photo exhibition was opened at the Pyongyang International Cultural Center on Monday to mark the 60th anniversary of the conclusion of the agreement on economic and cultural cooperation between the DPRK and the Russian Federation.

On display in the venue of an opening ceremony were photos showing historic activities of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il for the development of the bilateral friendly relations and the achievements of the Russian people.

Present at the opening ceremony were Mun Jae Chol, acting chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, Hong Son Ok, vice-chairwoman of the KCCRFC and chairwoman of the DPRK-Russia Friendship Association, and officials concerned and working people in the city of Pyongyang.

Valery Sukhinin, Russian ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy were on hand.

Speakers at the ceremony said that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries have entered a new higher stage through several meetings held between Kim Jong Il and former President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin in the new century and the joint documents adopted in this course.

They stressed that the photo exhibition would provide a significant occasion in consolidating the bonds of friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

The participants looked around the photos on display.

Then they appreciated a feature film "Everlasting Comrade-in-Arms" (Parts 1 and 2) at the Chollima Hall of Culture.
