Koreans Called upon to Display Strong National Self-Esteem
Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- The Korean people will usher in a great heyday of Songun Korea, cherishing the strong national self-esteem fully displayed at each phase of the revolution, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article.

It goes on:

The DPRK is shining in the world arena and the Korean people have fully demonstrated the dignity as a powerful people thanks to the ideological and moral might more powerful than a nuclear weapon and national self-esteem.

Even a small country and a developing country can appear in the world arena with dignity, unfazed by any pressure of a big country if it is strong in its national self-esteem. This is the truth proved by the history of rises and falls of nations.

It is the truth that a country is sure to prosper only when it is strong in national self-esteem. This is more clearly proved in the on-going drive to build a great prosperous and powerful nation.

The national self-esteem has served as an eternal lifeline of the DPRK, the Korean nation and Korean-style socialism and a source of all miracles.

The national self-esteem plays the role of an engine for bringing about great upsurge in the thinking and morality in the country and the nation.

If the mental power of the nation is likened to a powerful bomb, the national self-esteem is like its detonator.

Nothing can measure the speed of its display and the range of its effect.

The Korean people's national self-esteem has reached the highest level in the long history of the nation.

Their national self-esteem is fair and aboveboard as it has nothing in common with any chauvinism.

They are now immensely confident and optimistic about the future of the country and the prospect of the nation.

The Korean people are sure to emerge victorious in their cause of building a great prosperous and powerful nation as they are dynamically advancing, cherishing the strong national self-esteem instilled by General Secretary Kim Jong Il into them, concludes the article.
