S. Korean Fascist Prosecution's Suppression Protested
Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- 35 human rights organizations and at least 100 human rights activists of south Korea released a joint statement on Mar. 5 denouncing the fascist prosecution for its unreasonable suppression.

The statement accused the prosecution authorities of applying for an arrest warrant for Pak Rae Gun, co-executive chairman of the All-People Committee for Measures against Murder of Evacuees in Ryongsan, on the charge of violation of the "law on assembly and demonstration."

Through such action the Lee Myung Bak regime sought to push forward its "development policy" in real earnest and further increase the authority of the police, the statement said, and continued:

The authorities that have regarded the activities of the said committee as a thorn in their flesh and intensified the suppression of it are cracking down on such figures as Pak Rae Gun by branding him as prime movers of "illegal rallies."

Those who should be arrested by the prosecution are the ringleaders of the murder of Ryongsan evacuees including the former chief of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, it charged, warning that in case an arrest warrant is issued for Pak Rae Gun, they will launch a strong protest against it.
