Memorial Service for Koreans Killed during U.S. Air Raids Held in Tokyo
Pyongyang, March 6 (KCNA) -- A memorial service for the Koreans killed during the U.S. forces' large-scale air raid on Tokyo was held in the city on Feb. 28, 64 years after the atrocity.

Present at the service were members of the Korean Youth League in Japan and the Union of Korean Students in Japan and other Korean residents in Japan and Japanese personages and citizens.

Introduced there were memorial messages from the DPRK Measure Committee for Demanding Compensation to "Comfort Women" for the Japanese Army and the Victims of Forcible Drafting and the Association of Korean Victims of Forcible Drafting and Their Bereaved Families and the south Korean Committee for Investigation into the Damage Done by the Japanese Imperialist's Forcible Drafting during Their Occupation of Korea.

Speakers at the service recalled that a large number of Koreans, who had been taken to Japan during its colonial rule, were barbarously killed by the said air raid on Mar.10, 1945.

They referred to the fact that the remains of 72 dead bodies out of those remains in the Tokyo Metropolitan Shrine have been identified by the Tokyo Fact-Finding Group on Forcible Drafting of Koreans.

They stressed that they would go ahead with the investigation to identify remains of Koreans.
