Anti-"Government" Struggle Launched in S. Korea
Pyongyang, March 3 (KCNA) -- An anti-"government" struggle was launched in Seoul on Feb. 28 with the attendance of members of civic and public organizations of south Korea, including the Confederation of Trade Unions and the Press Trade Union, bereaved families of those slain Ryongsan evacuees and citizens of different strata, more than 10,000 in all.

A meeting of workers from across south Korea and a rally of the Press Trade Union took place in Youido of Seoul and outside the press center.

The participants strongly condemned traitor Lee Myung Bak for seeking to impose only on the popular masses the pain from the economic crisis and pushing ahead with the scheme to put media under his control in a bid to prolong his power.

After the meeting and rally, they gathered in front of the city office to stage a demonstration.

The demonstrators thronged to the Myongdong Cathedral, breaking through the puppet police's reckless crackdown, and held a rally there denouncing the police's atrocities.

At the end of the rally, they marched toward Jongro, Uljiro and other streets, chanting such slogans as "Overthrow dictatorship!" and "Myung Bak, step down!"
