Japanese Authorities Urged to Ensure Rights of Korean Residents
Pyongyang, March 3 (KCNA) -- Representatives of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and the Korean Human Rights Association in Japan conducted activities of request among Japanese lawmakers from different political parties in charge of judicial affairs and aliens' affairs from Feb. 20 as regards the fact that the Japanese authorities are seeking to introduce a new system for managing the residence of foreigners.

When meeting lawmakers from the New Komeito Party, the Democratic Party and the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, the representatives disclosed the unjustness of the Japanese government's scheme which is to abrogate the aliens registration system and introduce a new system for controlling residence of foreigners.

The Japanese government should not regard the Korean residents in Japan as an object of "control and restriction" but ensure their human rights, they stated.
