February Holiday Celebrated in Various Countries
Pyongyang, March 2 (KCNA) -- Art performances, a film show and photo exhibitions were arranged in Mexico, Peru and Guinea and Taekwon-Do contests in South Africa and Bulgaria between Feb. 11 and 14 to celebrate the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

On display at the venues of events were photos showing the immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il.

Speeches were made at the events.

Benigno Gonzales Villasana, chairman of the Mexico-Korea Friendship Association, said that the birth of Kim Jong Il was a great auspicious event of national historic significance as it gave the greatest fortune to all the Korean people. And the speaker praised the undying feats performed by him in carrying forward and developing the revolutionary cause of Juche and accomplishing the human cause of independence.

Genaro Ledesma Izquieta, chairman of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru, said that Korean socialism provided by President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il is highly developed and genuine socialism and it is the hope of humankind struggling to firmly defend and develop the socialist cause under the uplifted banner of Juche, oppose the imperialist domination and achieve genuine liberation and freedom.

Put on the stages of art performances were immortal revolutionary hymn "Song of General Kim Jong Il," "Blue Sky over My Country" and other Korean songs and songs and dances of relevant countries.

Appreciated at the film show was a Korean film introducing Lake Chon on Mt. Paektu in four seasons.
