At the press conference speakers informed the participants of the "Lee Myung Bak non-confidence referendum" held across south Korea for more than 40 days from Jan. 8.

They noted that many voters from all walks of life bitterly denounced Lee for his crimes such as economic bankruptcy, deterioration of people's livelihood, violation of democracy, restoration of dictatorship, destruction of inter-Korean relations, etc.

The Lee Myung Bak regime has run headlong into dictatorship, ignoring the demand of the people in all fabrics of society including politics, economy and education in the last one year, they said, terming the results of the vote a cold estimation and stern judgment by the people.

The Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration in a statement on Feb. 25 denounced the one year of Lee's office as one characterized by high-handedness, dictatorship and shift of responsibility onto others.

The statement stressed: Lee Myung Bak, step down at once. This is the unanimous demand of the people.

The South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification in a statement on the same day denounced puppet traitor Lee for his crimes committed in the first year of his office. The present "government" is making desperate efforts to blindfold people, stop their ears and bind their hands and feet but it cannot block the people's struggle, the statement added.
