Lee Myung Bak Group's Moves for Confrontation with DPRK Rebuked
Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- The Communist Party of Sweden, the Danish Communist Party, the Communist Party in Denmark, the Communist Workers' Party of Finland for the Peace and Socialism and the Communist Party of Norway sent a letter to the south Korean authorities on Feb. 17 in their joint name to denounce the Lee Myung Bak group for escalating confrontation with the DPRK.

The reunification of the divided nation is the long-cherished desire of the Korean people and the most important task facing them, the letter said, and went on:

The June 15 era of reunification which started with the adoption of the June 15 joint declaration replaced the trend to distrust and confrontation between the north and the south by one toward reconciliation and unity and clearly proved the validity of the idea of "By our nation itself."

The resolution "Peace, security and reunification of the Korean Peninsula" jointly proposed by the north and the south of Korea was adopted with full approval at the plenary meeting of the 62nd UN General Assembly.

We strongly urge the south Korean authorities to stop at once the reckless moves for confrontation with the DPRK and opt for seeking a way of achieving the reunification at an early date, not following foreign forces.

We urge the south Korean authorities to repeal the anachronistic "National Security Law" at once and thoroughly implement the June 15 joint declaration.

We demand the new U.S. Administration not obstruct the efforts of the Korean people to reunify the country.
