Protest against Murder of Evacuees Unabated in S. Korea
Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- The All-People Committee for Measures against the Murder of Evacuees in Ryongsan of south Korea staged protests every day against the puppet security authorities' killing of evacuees in Ryongsan, according to MBC and CBS of south Korea.

The committee held a meeting to honor the memory of the dead in Seoul on Feb. 21 at which it urged the authorities to totally re-probe the truth about the recent brutal murder of evacuees and release the detained evacuees.

When the police authorities hurled a huge force into the operation to suppress the protesters, the members of the above-said committee and the bereaved families of the slain evacuees, infuriated by their action, formed a group of demonstrators and staged a protest.

On Feb. 20 the committee held a press conference at the place where the Ryongsan tragedy took place in connection with the lapse of a month since the brutal killing of its evacuees.

Speakers at the press conference charged that after announcing the false results of the investigation the prosecution held policemen not accountable for their merciless crackdown upon the evacuees' sit-in strike and passed the buck for the incident to them and are now becoming evermore undisguised in suppression of them.

In a press release, they declared that they would carry on their protest till the "government" and the ruling party have probed the truth about the incident and punished the prime mover of the murder.

At the end of the conference the members of the committee staged a candlelight meeting till late at night.
