Lee Myung Bak's Move to Institute Evil Law on Media Assailed
Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- South Korean media persons made public a declaration on the situation on Feb. 16 denouncing the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors' move to institute an evil law on media.

The declaration accused the Lee regime and the "Grand National Party" of seeking to railroad the "bill on amendment to the law on broadcasting services", evil bill on media, etc. through the "extraordinary session of the National Assembly" in February.

It held that in case these evil bills are carried, conservative newspapers such as Chosun Ilbo, Choongang Ilbo and Dong-A Ilbo and big businesses will monopolize even the broadcasting services and the media will be under their complete control.

It also charged that the "bill on revision of the law on newspapers" aimed at serving the conservative newspapers is to meet the interests of the "government" and the ruling party in the final analysis.

It urged the Lee "government" and the GNP to immediately halt the move to use the media as a tool for those in power.

It expressed the will of the media persons to join all other people in the struggle for checking the railroading of the evil bill on media by the Lee "government" and the GNP.
