All Koreans Called upon to Give Priority to Nation
Pyongyang, February 20 (KCNA) -- It is an important way of steadily and dynamically advancing the cause of national reunification for all Koreans in the north and the south and abroad to struggle from the firm viewpoint of giving priority to the nation and defending it in response to the call of the joint New Year editorial.

Rodong Sinmun Friday says this in a signed article.

The viewpoint of giving priority to the nation and defending it is an essential stand to be maintained by the Koreans to foil foreign forces' aggression and interference and anti-reunification moves and accomplish the cause of independent reunification, the article notes, and goes on:

The viewpoint of giving priority to the nation and protecting its interests represents a patriotic viewpoint of the nation which calls for giving importance to the nation, not foreign forces, and struggling to protect its interests, not outsiders'.

If the Koreans struggle, firmly maintaining the above-said viewpoint, they can surely meet all challenges of the separatist forces at home and abroad and realize their cherished desire for national reunification no matter how desperately they may work.

It is required by the era of independent reunification for all Koreans to struggle from the above-said viewpoint.

Whoever desires national reunification should place his nation above the foreign forces and consider his nation's interests more important than foreign forces'.

The Koreans should think and act on the basis of justice from the national stand, the patriotic stand, irrespective of ideology, ism and system, and keep to the road of carving out the nation's destiny by its concerted efforts, rejecting foreign aggressor forces.

The June 15 era of reunification, in which the spirit of giving priority to the nation and defending it prevails and the desire for independent reunification is growing stronger, will make dynamic advance, meeting the challenges of the separatist forces.
