Japanese Reactionaries' Sinister Intention Disclosed
Pyongyang, February 20 (KCNA) -- When an international mission to prevent frequent piracy in the sea off Somalia was called for at the end of last year, Japan shouted for joy before any other countries and expressed its will to actively participate in anti-piracy operations. Japanese Defense Minister Hamada, when interviewed by media at the end of a recent Cabinet meeting, blustered that the dispatch of warships to the sea was not enough and those warships should be given the right to the unlimited use of weapons.

Minju Joson Friday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:

It was the real intention of Japan to realize the dispatch of the "Self-Defense Forces (SDF)" overseas under the pretext of helping settle international issues.

The commentary goes on:

Japan is more interested in granting the ships of the "SDF" the right to conduct military operations as they please in different parts of the world than taking part in the anti-piracy operations. It is as clear as a pikestaff that Japan will adopt a law on special measures against piracy aimed at allowing the SDF to use not only small arms but heavy weapons in the future.

Japan's desperate efforts to achieve its sinister aim in contravention of even domestic law provoke only jeers among people.

Japan would be well advised to give up its bad habit of behaving recklessly, poking its nose into this or that affair, while failing to honor its commitments.

The first thing to be done by Japan is to redress all the hideous crimes committed by it in the past, concludes the commentary.
