Punishment of Mastermind of Ryongsan Incident Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, February 13 (KCNA) -- The All-People Committee for Measures against the Murder of Evacuees in Ryongsan of south Korea called a press conference in Seoul on Feb. 10 to demand the detention and punishment of the mastermind of killing evacuees in Ryongsan.

At the conference the organization termed the resignation of Kim Sok Gi, chief of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, hypocritical, adding that this was done according to the scenario of "Chongwadae" to shift the responsibility for the tragedy in Ryongsan onto the evacuees and calm down the popular resentment at the murder.

On the same day the bereaved families of the dead also denounced Kim Sok Gi's resignation farce.

Meanwhile, the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions made public a statement on Feb. 9 in which it condemned the puppet prosecution authorities for their behavior of falsifying the truth behind the killing of evacuees.

Accusing the prosecution of becoming an accomplice of the police and the present regime in killing people, defying truth, the statement deplored that this would spark off a tragedy similar to what happened in Ryongsan in the days ahead.

It warned that the people will never pardon the Lee Myung Bak regime as they are infuriated by its reckless action to cover up the tragedy in Ryongsan.
