The general secretary of the October 8 Revolutionary Movement of Brazil was elected chairman of the preparatory committee at the inaugural ceremony.

The preparatory committee set the period from February 2 to April 15 as a commemoration and celebration period and decided to organize colorful political and cultural events during the period.
