Kim Jong Il's Birthday Celebrated in Various Countries
Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- A joint seminar took place in Democratic Congo, a Korean book, photo and fine art exhibition in Indonesia, a reading session in Guinea and round-table talks in Ecuador between Jan. 24 and 31 on the occasion of the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Displayed in the venue of the exhibition were books, photos and fine art works showing the immortal exploits of the peerlessly great persons.

Kamwiziku Octave, chairman of the National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea of Democratic Congo who is secretary general of the African Regional Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, noted in his speech at the joint seminar that guided by the Juche idea, the revolutionaries of Korea waged the arduous anti-Japanese armed struggle under the leadership of President
Kim Il Sung to liberate the country and won a great victory in the three-year Fatherland Liberation War by humbling the arrogant U.S. imperialists.

The Korean people are now making signal successes in building a great prosperous and powerful nation, true to the Songun politics of Kim Jong Il, he said.

Kanga Ngerien Jerom, chairman of the Group for the Study of Kim Jong Il Juche Idea of Democratic Congo, and other speakers stressed that the Juche idea is the man-centered idea and the revolutionary philosophy.

Ristiyanto, chairman of the Indonesia-Korea Association for Friendship and Cultural Exchange, said at the exhibition-opening ceremony that the DPRK is shining as a powerful socialist country under the distinguished Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il. And he declared that the association would strive to develop the friendly relations between the two countries in the future.

The president of a university in Indonesia noted that they are greatly encouraged by the looks of DPRK which is dynamically advancing towards a great prosperous and powerful nation while meeting every challenge of the hostile forces under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
