Winner of First World Intelligence Competition
Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- There are many athletes who let the national flag of the DPRK fly in international contests, enhancing the national prestige.

Among them is Jo Tae Won, player of the Korean Paduk (go) Association, who bagged a gold medal at the open paduk individuals in the 1st World Intelligence Competition held in Beijing in October last year.

He booked the final birth, overpowering all the rivals from various countries and regions. At the final-stage of the competition, he outrivaled the opponent by employing protean skills to become the winner of the first Intelligence Olympics.

He displayed a high-level of technique at the World Amateur Paduk Championship held in Juche 94 (2005) to earn the world fame. His special ability is sharp attack and the spirit of turning the game situation favorably without losing confidence till the last moments.

It is said that for this purpose, he had striven to acquire high technique and resources such as correctly judging the situation and reading tricks from the five year of age.

He was very clever and interested in paduk from his younger days. The state which found his paduk ability let him participate in international games in his teens.

He, a Merited Athlete, is trying hard to inspire the people in the efforts for building a great, prosperous and powerful nation with another gold medal.
