Greetings to AU Ordinary Session
Pyongyang, January 30 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, sent a message of greetings to the 12th ordinary session of the assembly of heads of state and government of the African Union on Friday.

Kim in the message extended warm congratulations and salute to all heads of state and government and delegates attending the ordinary session on behalf of the government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in connection with the opening of the session in Addis Ababa.

He said that the initiatives taken by the AU and its efforts to achieve peace and stability of the Continent and facilitate the political and economic integration give strong impetus to the common cause of developing countries to meet all challenges and establish a fair and impartial international order in the present times.

Extending firm support and solidarity to the African people in their just cause of building an independent, peaceful and prosperous continent, he once again reiterated the invariable stand of the DPRK government to boost the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation with the AU and its member states in a more multi-faceted manner in the future.

He sincerely hoped that the ordinary session would yield fine results in line with the desire and expectation of its member states to mark a new occasion in positively promoting the development of the infrastructure of Africa, accelerating the regional integration and strengthening the organization of the union.
