Folk Games of Schoolchildren Held
Pyongyang, January 26 (KCNA) -- Folk games of schoolchildren from across the country were held here from Jan. 22 to 26 on the occasion of the lunar New Year.

More than 300 schoolchildren selected from provinces competed in the games.

Kite-flying, Korean shuttlecock and top spinning games took place at Kim Il Sung Square.

Schoolchildren rhythmically kicked shuttlecocks and spun tops in competition while the plane-, five-pointed star- and flag-shaped kites flew high in the sky, adding to the festive mood of the capital on the New Year.

Pyongyang Schoolchildren's Palace was also animated almost every day with competitors who skillfully moved pieces in such folk games as kkoni and Yut games and those who were absorbed in cat's cradle, etc. amid the enthusiastic cheering.

The Pyongyang city team came first in team standings.
