He said in the letter of thanks that the power station is a monumental structure of eternal value that sprang up thanks to the inexhaustible mental power of the Korean people to build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation on this land without fail by dint of the tremendous might of the single-minded unity of Songun Korea where the party, the leader and the people formed an integral whole and with their own strength and technology and resources.

The builders of the power station are the pace-setters in displaying the spirit of self-reliance as they created everything from nothing by turning out as one in a persevering struggle in a do-or-die spirit at a time when the country was undergoing a stern trial and the indomitable fighters who proved in practice the great vitality of the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance instilled by President Kim Il Sung into them, the letter noted, and continued:

The completion of the power station helped lay a solid foundation for successfully solving the problem of electricity and drinking water for the citizens of Wonsan and rapidly developing the economy in the province and remarkably change the landscape of the country.

It will instill great strength and courage into all the people of the country now all out in the great advance to bring about a new great revolutionary surge on all fronts of building a powerful nation in hearty response to the militant call of the party and the letter sent by the workers of the Kangson Steel Complex.

I highly praise all the builders of the Wonsan Youth Power Station and their helpers for having constructed a great structure, a product of the spirit of self-reliance, which will go down long in history along with the Songun era, by displaying the inexhaustible mental power stronger than A-bomb, upholding the party's gigantic plan for nature transformation.

The officials, party members and all other working people in Kangwon Province including the builders of the station should loudly sound the general advance, holding high the torch for effecting a new great revolutionary surge in the Songun era kindled by the party in Kangson, the birthplace of the Chollima movement, and thus make a positive contribution to opening the gate to a thriving nation in 2012 which will mark the centenary of birth of the President and bringing about the fullest development of Songun Korea.

All the party organizations and officials in Kangwon Province should dynamically conduct the organizational and political work for steadily heightening the revolutionary enthusiasm of the masses, which had grown exceptionally stronger through the construction of the power station, in order to make the high-pitched drive for self-reliance and great revolutionary surge rage on the land of Kangwon and build more gigantic structures to add shine to the Songun era.

It is my firm belief that the builders of the power station and all the party members and other working people in Kangwon Province will bring about uninterrupted miracles and innovations in the general charge to open the gate to a thriving nation, true to the Songun revolutionary leadership of the party, and thus creditably live up to the party's trust and expectation.
