Pyongyang, January 2 (KCNA) -- DPRK book, photo and handicraft exhibitions took place in Russia, Bulgaria, Poland and Mexico from December 15 to 28 last year on the occasions of the 17th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 91st birth anniversary of Kim Jong Suk, anti-Japanese war hero.

On display in the venues of the exhibitions were works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and photos showing their feats, books and photos introducing Songun Korea and handicrafts representing the wisdom and skills of the Korean people.

The opening ceremonies of exhibitions were attended by personages and people from various circles of those countries.

Several attendants spoke there.

The director of the Cultural Department of Kaluga Region of Russia said that today the DPRK is dynamically pushing forward socialist construction despite trials and difficulties in its way. The world is expressing admiration at the achievements made by the DPRK, he said, noting that no force on earth can match the Korean people under the wise guidance of Kim Jong Il.

The curator of a history museum in Panagyurishte City of Bulgaria said that the DPRK which is standing firm guard over socialism is shattering the ambition of the U.S. and other international reactionaries to dominate the world, after holding the full-fledged status of a military power. The Korean people are sure to emerge victorious as they are holding Kim Jong Il in high esteem, the curator stressed.

The curator of an art gallery in Puebla City of Mexico expressed hope that the exhibition would offer the Mexican people an opportunity to know better about Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Suk whom the Korean people deeply revere, and greatly help them deepen the friendly feelings towards the Korean people.
