Homage Paid to Kim Il Sung

Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- Senior party and state officials, the chairperson of a friendly party and leading officials of party and power bodies, social organizations, ministries and national institutions on Thursday visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace to pay homage to President Kim Il Sung on the occasion of the New Year, Juche 98 (2009).

Amidst the playing of the melody of "Song of General Kim Il Sung", a floral basket in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Central Military Commission of the WPK, the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet was laid before the statue of the President.

Written on the ribbon of the basket were letters reading "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung is immortal."

The visitors paid profound homage to the President, looking up to his statue.

They made deep bows to him, recalling his immortal revolutionary exploits.

Visiting the palace on the same day were commanding officers of the Korean People's Army, anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters, officials of ministries and national institutions, servicepersons and working people from all walks of life.

Also the diplomatic corps, the military attaches corps and representatives of international organizations here visited the palace to pay homage to the President.
