The message noted that last year was a significant year when the whole army and all the people of the DPRK, closely united as one in mind, glorified its 60th founding anniversary as an auspicious event of the nation and won the historic victory in the offensive to open the gate of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation through general advance true to the leadership of Kim Jong Il.

It recalled that Kim Jong Il clarified the need to bring about a decisive turn in developing the work of Chongryon and the movement of Koreans in Japan in the new century and has carefully led its patriotic movement with deep trust and warm love.

Noting that they are full of firm conviction that the homeland is the embrace of Kim Jong Il and eternal victory of Chongryon and genuine happiness of Koreans in Japan lie in the way of following him, the message went on:

On the morning of the New Year's Day when the homeland is afire with the revolutionary mettle to open the gate of a great prosperous powerful nation in 2012 that marks the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung, we are full of the will to arouse all the organizations of Chongryon to make this year a year of leap and advance for laying solid foundation to bring about the fresh heyday of the movement of Koreans in Japan.

We will actively join in the nationwide movement for implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and strengthen solidarity with the progressive forces of south Korea for reunification and dynamically wage the struggle to frustrate the confrontation moves of the Lee Myung Bak group against reunification.

We will fully expose the vicious moves of the reactionaries inside and outside Japan against the DPRK and Chongryon to Japanese and international community and decisively destroy them through a massive struggle to defend Chongryon and advance the movement of Koreans in Japan in the new century as wished by Kim Jong Il.
