Struggle against GNP Starts in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Political parties and civic and public organizations of south Korea, including the People's Emergency Action to Check Lee Myung Bak's Moves to Railroad Evil Bills, the Citizens' Solidarity for Democratic Society, the Council of Youth Organizations and the Democratic Labor Party, held a meeting in Seoul on Dec. 28 to vow the "48-hour people's emergency action to check Lee Myung Bak's moves to railroad evil bills against people's living and democracy."

At the meeting speakers said that people of various circles could not but turn out in the emergency action as the "Grand National Party" is seeking to railroad en masse the evil laws while ruling supreme at the "National Assembly."

If the evil bills are unilaterally passed, the Lee Myung Bak "government" and the GNP will face their own destruction and those kowtowing to the traitorous clique will be cursed and condemned by the popular masses, they warned.

They stated that they would show the resentment of the people through the struggles against the present regime and the traitorous political party, including a meeting of peasants and fishermen, a people's rally, a candlelight prayer meeting, a sit-in strike and an all-out meeting of press trade union with the start of a press conference for declaring the 48-hour people's emergency action.

A resolution read out at the meeting said that they would never pardon the GNP which is trying to railroad Lee Myung Bak's evil bills, brandishing the sword of dictatorship in disregard of the people.

At the end of the meeting a candlelight action of Internet users was launched to denounce the brigandish act of the traitorous political party.

Meanwhile, human rights organizations, including the Joint Conference of Human Rights Organizations, called a press conference outside the building of the GNP on the same day in protest against its moves to railroad the evil bills.

In a press release the organizations declared that they would not remain a passive onlooker to the unreasonable behavior of the GNP seeking to railroad the evil bills aimed at violating human rights, but struggle against the Lee Myung Bak dictatorial regime on behalf of human rights.
