Lee Myung Bak's Suppression of Pro-Reunification Patriotic Figures Assailed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 28 (KCNA) -- The Action Headquarters of the 16th-term south Korean Federation of University Student Councils made public a statement entitled "We denounce judicial authorities' decision against Yun Ki Jin, chairman of the South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification, and the Lee Myung Bak regime" on Dec. 25.

The statement accused the Seoul High Court of sentencing Yun Ki Jin to three years in jail and three years of suspension of qualification at a trial held on Dec. 19.

The statement declared that it can hardly repress the resentment at the recent court ruling which brought to light the Lee regime's design to crack down upon the reunification movement by invoking the "National Security Law."

The south Koreans are undergoing unspeakable sufferings due to Lee Myung Bak and the "Grand National Party" going against the people's mind-set, the statement said, urging them to repeal the NSL, an evil law in the era, and immediately set free all prisoners of conscience.

It also demanded the Lee regime step down as it totally negates the historic declarations for reunification and suppresses pro-reunification patriotic forces.
