Korean People's Just Cause Supported by AAPSO
Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- The 8th congress of the Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Organization (AAPSO) held in India between Dec. 14 and 16 with at least 400 delegates of 25 countries including the DPRK and international organizations extended full support to the just cause of the Korean people.

A special statement on Korea adopted at the congress said that the prevailing situation on the Korean Peninsula is arousing great concern of the international community.

It continued:

The U.S. is still pursuing its hostile policy towards the DPRK and massively beefing up its naval and air forces in and around south Korea after reorganizing its forces in south Korea into rapid deployment forces for realizing its wild ambition for aggression to dominate the DPRK and its neighboring countries of Asia under the signboard of the "strategic flexibility".

The right-wing ruling conservative forces of south Korea are totally negating the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, a programme for implementing it, after adopting the service for the U.S. and confrontation with the DPRK as a policy. They are staging ceaseless U.S.-led large-scale joint military exercises after massively introducing up-to-date combat equipment from the U.S., advocating even "the theory of preemptive attack" on the DPRK.

It is a key issue of ensuring peace and security in Northeast Asia and the rest of Asia to put an end to the military confrontation and remove the danger of war from the Korean Peninsula and achieve its reunification.

The U.S. should roll back its hostile policy toward the DPRK and replace the ceasefire agreement by a peace agreement, halt its joint military maneuvers and arms build-up for aggression and dismantle its military bases in south Korea.

The Lee Myung Bak regime of south Korea should drop its policy of pursuing confrontation with the DPRK and opposing reunification and stop the crackdown upon the progressive pro-reunification patriotic forces.
