Atanas Ivanov, chairman of the Bulgarian Communists Union, in his speech at the meeting highly praised the Korean people for having defended the sovereignty of the country and successfully carried on the cause of socialism while foiling the U.S. wild ambition to dominate the world as they hold Kim Jong Il in high esteem as supreme commander of the KPA.

He expressed his belief that the Korean people would build a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation and achieve the peaceful reunification of the country by the concerted efforts of the Koreans free from the foreign interference under the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il true to the behest of President Kim Il Sung and the desire of Kim Jong Suk.

The secretary general of the International Taekwon-Do Association in Iran at the briefing and film show said that Kim Jong Suk made an immortal contribution to the liberation of Korea and the cause of building a new country.

Noting that Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the KPA was an event of special mention in bolstering the KPA, he said that the DPRK has achieved signal successes in various fields despite the imperialists' moves to stifle it entirely thanks to Kim Jong Il who directed primary efforts to strengthening and developing the KPA to cope with the prevailing situation.

The chairman of the Romanian Workers' Association in a lecture said that the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il is the source of strength that made it possible for the Korean people to defend socialism and guarantee the sovereignty of the country and the dignity of the nation with armed forces.

The representative of the Romanian branch of the Korean Friendship Association headquartered in Spain introduced in detail the undying feats anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk performed by devotedly protecting Kim Il Sung politically and ideologically and at the risk of her life and giving birth to and bringing up Kim Jong Il as a bright future of the revolutionary cause of Juche.

The participants of the film show watched the DPRK documentary showing the military parade of the KPA.

A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting held in Bulgaria.
